Join us for a Policy Coffee Talk featuring Professor Mike DiBerardinis and Nicole Westerman, director of real estate and economic development for the New Kensington Community Development Corporation (CDC). "The Possibilities & Challenges of Collaboration" Coffee Talks are offered to the MPA cohort as a unique “off-record” opportunity to discuss current events and relevant policy issues with active practitioners. These intimate talks are a key component of MPA career programming and allow students to gain insight and learn valuable lessons on public sector leadership.

Panel Discussion on Supporting Survivors of Violence with Reception

Join us on February 16 in the Perelman Auditorium for a special event that features a panel discussion on supporting survivors of violence with a networking reception immediately following. The panel session will include a live podcast taping for Obscured. The Obscured Podcast, produced by Kouvenda Media, dives into critical stories that unfold largely out of the public eye, discussing their complexities and exploring potential solutions.

Fels is proud to share that Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker has appointed two Fels graduates to her administration

Tiffany Thurman, MPA ’16, is Parker’s new chief of staff and has experience working with the Greater Philadelphia YMCA in addition to various roles in local government.

Amy Patel, MPA ’19, is Parker’s new deputy budget director and has experience working at the Philadelphia City Council in addition to being a Fels capstone advisor and teaching assistant.

Joseph Milo ’22 presents Fels capstone-inspired paper at the UN’s Second International Conference on Climate Change and the Role of Nuclear Power

Fels alum Joseph Milo ’22 recently presented a paper stemming from his Fels capstone at the Second International Conference on Climate Change and the Role of Nuclear Power, hosted by the United Nations in Vienna. His paper, “A Risk Informed Policy Analysis of Nuclear Power in the Electricity Markets,” built upon his capstone work as a student, was geared toward legislators seeking to better understand the interaction between clean energy source subsidies and financial risk in the markets.
