A third-generation Philadelphian, Council Member Thomas grew up in Northwest Philadelphia. Growing up, life was about education and basketball, and decades later his passions remain: his city, education, and basketball. Isaiah has committed his life to building a brighter future for all Philadelphians and knows that education, opportunity, and teamwork are the way to get there together.

Executive Leadership Dialogue with Dayle Steinberg

About the series: Executive Leadership Dialogue is a lunch series aimed at introducing students to public sector leaders who will share their perspectives on leadership, mentorship, and executive management. The series will be hosted by Fels Mentor Joseph Pierce and co-facilitated by current Fels student Ayo Aladesanmi ’23. The lunches are small by design and will include both Full-time and EMPA students and allow students to gain insight and learn valuable lessons on public sector leadership.

Vaughn Ross, founder of Rvesta Consulting, previously served as First Deputy Chief of Staff to Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney from 2016-2021. In his time with Mayor Kenney, he retained a portfolio of departments focused on economic development, including the department of Planning and Development, the Commerce Department, and the Office of Transportation, Infrastructure, and Sustainability.

Ebony Wortham is an Executive Assistant United States Attorney for Community Engagement in the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In this role, Ebony is tasked with strengthening the Office’s partnerships in the communities we serve throughout the District, particularly those struggling with violent crime, opioid abuse, and the legacy of generations of systemic exclusion from education, health care, housing, and employment.
