Ebony Wortham is an Executive Assistant United States Attorney for Community Engagement in the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In this role, Ebony is tasked with strengthening the Office’s partnerships in the communities we serve throughout the District, particularly those struggling with violent crime, opioid abuse, and the legacy of generations of systemic exclusion from education, health care, housing, and employment.

The Executive MPA is a low-residency program for working professionals with at least five years of experience. Our program is designed to enhance your leadership in the public sphere and combines an innovative online learning platform with monthly on-site intensives on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Students complete the program on a part-time schedule and take ten courses, including a capstone project and three electives (at Fels or another Penn school).

The on-campus Master of Public Administration is designed to deliver the analytical tools, real-world experience, and valuable connections needed to begin or advance a career in the public sector. The MPA can be completed in one year and requires nine courses, including a capstone project, two electives (at Fels or another Penn school), and an internship.

Lauren Lambie-Hanson is a senior advisor and research fellow in the Consumer Finance Institute at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Her work focuses on the residential mortgage market, households' access to credit, and housing affordability.

Alberto Rodriguez

Alberto Rodriguez is the program coordinator for the Fels Institute of Government and the Program on Opinion Research and Election Studies (PORES) at the Fox Leadership Program. He attended Temple University where he studied communications. Alberto has been in the Penn community for over five years, starting at Facilities & Real Estate Services before joining the Fels Institute of Government. Growing up in Philadelphia’s Kensington section, he grew a passion for making his community a better place and providing opportunities to those who come from underserved communities.

Michele Scherch

Michele Scherch is the assistant director of communications and events at the Fels Institute of Government, bringing experience in diverse facets across nonprofit and academic institutions. Before Fels, she served as the associate director for strategic advancement communications at the Rutgers University Foundation and in multiple positions at the Johns Hopkins University, including communications specialist for the Peabody Institute and administrative coordinator for the Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy.

Marlon Lewis

Marlon Lewis is the assistant director for recruitment and student services at the Fels Institute of Government. Bringing five years of higher education experience to the team, he previously had roles as admissions advisor, financial aid counselor, and academic advisor at DeVry University. In October 2021, Marlon joined the Penn community as a student services counselor in the Division of Finance. A continuous learner, Marlon has a passion for enhancing the student experience. He holds a Master of Education in educational leadership from Lincoln University and has plans to pursue his EdD.
