Fels Institute of Government welcomes new director, Mindy Zacharjasz

Fels Institute of Government is delighted to welcome Mindy Zacharjasz, our new Director of the Master of Public Administration program, effective Friday, August 30.

Mindy has been serving in an interim role at Fels since May. Before that, she was a senior consultant to the College of Liberal and Professional Studies, supporting new initiatives in online leadership programming.

Mindy brings more than a decade of leadership experience in nonprofit, private, and educational organizations to her role at Fels. A Philadelphia-area native, she has served as Director of Client Success and Strategic Growth for an educational technology start-up and as Director of Development for the Philadelphia School Partnership, an education nonprofit dedicated to creating and expanding educational opportunities for low-income students in Philadelphia. Mindy has also worked in a partner and content development role for Pearson Education. She started her career as a secondary English teacher in the St. Louis, MO public schools as a member of Teach for America.

Mindy exemplifies the Fels’ passion for public service and has an extensive resume of community engagement. She is a former board member and secretary for local nonprofit PhilaSoup, a regular volunteer at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, and a Leadership Philadelphia fellow. Mindy is conversant in Spanish and American Sign Language (ASL) and loves to travel and explore the outdoors.

Mindy holds a BS in Journalism with a minor in Global Health from Northwestern, and an MEd from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
