Fels Celebrates a Successful Admissions Season!

April 26, 2011

This year the Fels Institute of Government received a record number of full-time MPA applications of the highest caliber in our 74-year history. The incoming class individually and collectively represents an impressive variety of experiences, academic achievements, and backgrounds.

Over 55% of the admitted full-time students were interviewed over the course of the admissions process by a group of dedicated alumni and the admissions committee.

Admitted Students Day was held on April 8. Throughout the day admitted students were able to meet current Fels students, alumni, faculty and staff, participate in a mock lecture, explore Penn's campus, and learn about the University's involvement with the Philadelphia community.

The geographic breakdown for this year's group of admitted students is as follows:

  • DC region: 17%
  • Midwest: 10%
  • Northeast: 32%
