About the Speaker:

Ted Gaebler became the County Executive Officer for Nevada County, California in January 2000, and is the co-author of the book Reinventing Government, which became an international best seller about transforming governments from outdated, bureaucratic organizations, to flexible, customer-focused organizations. Mr. Gaebler has been an advocate for pragmatic internally driven change in governments, including decentralizing authority, cutting management layers, and building public/private partnerships – all toward the goal of creating governments that citizens can be proud of. Ted Gaebler spent more than 20 years as an appointed government official in California, Oregon, Ohio, Maryland and Pennsylvania. For 13 years he owned a government consulting company in San Rafael, California. With a Master’s Degree in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Graduate School of Business, and his lengthy experience as a City Manager, he combines a strong educational background with a very practical perspective to effecting change.
