The Fels Institute of Government is proud to host Prena Gupta and Reed Lyons from PIDC for an informational session about the PIDC's work and potential opportunities for Fels graduates.

PIDC is a non-profit organization founded by the City of Philadelphia and the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce in 1958. They're mission is to spur investment, support business growth, and foster developments that create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, and drive growth to every corner of Philadelphia. To achieve this mission,they attract, manage, and invest public and private resources in the clients, communities, and markets that energize Philadelphia’s economy. About the Speakers:

As Senior Vice President of Navy Yard Planning and Real Estate Development, Prema leads the team that manages all aspects of property planning, leasing, real estate development, operations, marketing and communications for PIDC at The Navy Yard. Previously, Prema ran the Planning and Economic Development at University City District, where she was responsible for the execution of several prominent civic real estate projects, including The Porch at 30th Street Station. She previously worked for PIDC in the Real Estate Services group from 2007-2010. Additionally, she has worked at Yale University and at the Urban Land Institute, where she authored a book about placemaking and mixed-use development. Raised in Connecticut, Prema is a graduate of Bowdoin College and the University of Pennsylvania School of Design. Prema lives in Philadelphia’s West Mount Airy neighborhood with her husband and her two children.

Reed Lyons recently joined PIDC as Vice President, Navy Yard Development. In this role, Reed is responsible for driving and executing PIDC’s real estate transactions and business development efforts at the Navy Yard. A native of Philadelphia, Reed brings to the Navy Yard a strong and diverse background in real estate development. Reed received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from the George Washington University Law School. Prior to attending law school, Reed was awarded a year-long fellowship in 2002-2003 with the New York City Urban Fellows program where he concentrated in neighborhood economic development. Reed returned to Philadelphia in 2006 after completing his law degree and practiced land use and transactional real estate law at Blank Rome LLP, counseling clients on a wide array of real estate matters. Reed transitioned from the practice of law to real estate development in early 2013, managing complex development projects throughout the United States for IKEA, the world’s largest home furnishings retailer. Reed currently resides in the Washington Square West neighborhood of Center City Philadelphia with his wife and two children.
