Admissions Benefits

Any applicant who is on active duty or a veteran of the U.S. Military Service is eligible for an application fee waiver. The application fee will be automatically waived in the application for students meeting the criteria.

Current members and alumni of Fels admissions partner organizations are eligible for an application fee waiver when applying to any Fels program, including MPA, Executive MPA, and certificate programs. Please e-mail (attention: Mary Bustamante) to request a fee waiver code, which must be used on the payment screen before submitting the application.

Any admitted student to the Fels Institute of Government MPA or Executive MPA program who is a current member or alumnus of a Fels admissions partner organization is guaranteed a minimum $8,000 per year scholarship. Additional scholarship amounts are dependent on the merit of each applicant. Certificate-only applicants are not eligible.

Yellow Ribbon Program

Penn honors the Yellow Ribbon Program, which is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. The program allows Penn to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the VA to fund tuition expenses for eligible veterans. There are limited openings in each school for Yellow Ribbon awards. To learn more about the Yellow Ribbon Program and how to apply, visit the Veterans at Penn page.
