Project: 

The aim of this project is to understand the public’s perception of their local park, rec center, or playground, including how safe, accessible, and welcoming they find it, in addition to how well the infrastructure and programs fit their needs. Fels student would take on the role of the project manager and coordinate the Parks Alliance volunteers to collect data. Once the data is collected, student(s) will be responsible for analyzing the data and making recommendations. 

Deliverable: 

The student(s) will create a survey for qualitative and quantitative data collection and implement a data collection strategy to best gain an understanding of people's’ views of the Philadelphia park in their communities. The student(s) will need to collect the data, utilizing help from volunteers and Parks Alliance employees. Once the data is collected, the student(s) will identify next steps for analysis and future research.
