Join us for a "Leadership in a Time of Crisis" Coffee Talk featuring Professor Mike DiBerardinis and Christine Piven, executive director of adult education at the Office of Children and Families for the City of Philadelphia.
"Leadership in a Time of Crisis" Coffee Talks are offered to current students as a unique “off-record” opportunity to discuss current events and relevant policy issues with active practitioners. These talks are small by design and allow students to gain insight and learn valuable lessons on public sector leadership.
About Christine Piven
Christine Piven, PhD, is the chief of prevention and the executive director of adult education for the City of Philadelphia. For over 14 years and across several roles with the City, she has been asked to reimagine (or create) public-facing initiatives including launching Philadelphia's first grants office, creating a national model for President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper effort, developing a new city-wide after-school initiative, supporting the reorganization of two signature mayoral initiatives (Community Schools and PHLpreK), rebuilding the adult education system in Philadelphia, and most recently focusing on prevention services for the City.
