Kettl

Donald F. Kettl is the Fox Leadership Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is Director of the Fels Institute of Government and Professor of Political Science.

Professor Kettl is a student of public policy and public management and specializes in the management of public organizations. He has testified before Congress, regularly appears on national television, and contributes to op-ed pages in major newspapers.

Kettl is the author or editor of a dozen books and monographs, including:

The Transformation of Governance: Public Administration for the 21st Century

Kettl has twice won the Louis Brownlow Book Award of the National Academy of Public Administration for the best published public administration book. He has consulted broadly for government organizations at all levels in the United State and abroad, and is a regular columnist for Governing magazine, read by local and state government officials across the country.

Kettl was awarded a PhD in political science from Yale University. Prior to his appointment at the University of Pennsylvania, he taught at Columbia University, the University of Virginia, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a fellow of Phi Beta Kappa and the National Academy of Public Administration. He is also a shareholder in the Green Bay Packers.
