Deirdre Martinez

Deirdre Martinez is Director of the Fels Public Policy Internship Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to earning her doctorate with distinction in education policy at the University of Pennsylvania in 2006, she worked as an advocate and policy analyst in the nonprofit sector and served as Legislative Director to Congressman Xavier Becerra (D-CA), a member of the Ways and Means Committee. Her dissertation adapts John Kindgon’s multiple streams model to decisionmaking within interest groups.
