Current Internship: Fels Research & Consulting
Interests: Urban Economic Development
Why did you choose Fels?
I was initially attracted to Fels because it offers a Certificate in Economic Development and Growth, a field I hope to pursue after graduation. What really sold me on the program though was the amount of personal attention it offers to students. From day one, it was clear to me that the faculty and staff care deeply about their students and will do all that they can to help them succeed.
What is your role in the Fels Research and Consulting practice?
I am an Associate Consultant with Fels Research & Consulting, the Institute’s public sector consulting practice. Through my position with Fels R&C, I have gotten to sharpen my political and quantitative skills by working with outside clients on public sector projects.
What has been your favorite thing about Fels thus far?
I love how practical our classes are. For instance, this semester I am learning how to develop performance management plans and how to generate and read nonprofit financial reports. I have no doubt that developing hard skills like these will make me a more effective nonprofit leader in the future.
