We highly encourage alumni of these programs to consider us for a graduate degree. We believe that the same qualities that allowed you to complete these programs will help you make significant contributions in and out of our classrooms. When applying, please indicate your affiliation with one or numerous of these organizations in your personal statement.
The Fels Institute also recognizes the public service provided by current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Active and veteran servicemembers are eligible to receive the benefits outlined below and should similarly indicate your affiliation in your personal statement.
Public Service Partnership and Armed Service benefits
- Any applicant to the Fels Institute of Government who is a member/alumnus/veteran of one or more of the above organizations is eligible for an application fee waiver. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org (attention: Maura Tucker) to request a fee waiver code, which must be used on the payment screen before submitting the application
- Any admitted student to the Fels Institute of Government who is a member/alumnus/veteran of one or more of the above organizations is guaranteed a minimum $8,000 scholarship per year for study as an MPA or Executive MPA student. Additional scholarship amounts are dependent on the merit of each application. Certificate-only students are not eligible.
Peace Corps' Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program
We are proud to participate in the Peace Corps’ Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program. Established in 1985, Coverdell Fellows (formerly known as Fellows/USA) is a partnership between the Peace Corps and selected graduate schools across the country.
