Washington Semester Program: Academic Calendar 2008-2009

Fall 2008
The fall term starts and ends on the same day as the Penn campus and keeps the same holidays.  Move-in day is typically the Tuesday after Labor Day and classes begin later that same week.  The first day of internship is typically the Monday following Labor Day.

Tuesday, September 2: Move-in day (10am-12pm)
Wednesday, September 3: Classes begin
Monday, September 8: Internships begin
Friday, December 5: Classes and internships end
Saturday, December 13: Move-out day

Spring 2009
*****The spring calendar for WSP starts and ends one week earlier than the Penn campus*****

Students will move to Washington, D.C. during the first week in January (we will apprise you of the precise date and time).  Internships can begin after the 6th of January with classes beginning later that week.  Be sure to structure you winter break plans accordingly so that they do not conflict with the start of the WSP.  You can also begin your summer job one week earlier since classes and exams will end sooner. Spring break typically stays the same, but please inquire with the WSP grad assistant before you make plans.

Spring Dates:

Monday, March 9 - Friday March 13: Spring Break
Saturday, April 25: Move-out day
