The Next Government
Management Idea: Creating a Social Investment Fund Network
Candidate: Barack Obama
Management Area: Partnerships & Networks
Description: Senator Obama will create a Social Investment Fund Network to help support and improve the nonprofit sector. This government-supported nonprofit corporation will use federal seed money to leverage private sector resources and encourage involvement in local communities. Specifically, the network of funds will be used for expert analysis of data, testing the impact of new ideas, and expanding successful programs. The network of funds will be driven by four principles: funded efforts must be results-focused, community-driven, long-term, and cross public and private sector lines.
