Course Description: This inaugural IDEAS IN ACTION course worked with Philadelphia officials to assess the city’s plans for dealing with natural and deliberate catastrophes. The class formulated and delivered recommendations on how to improve the city’s plan. The students’ findings were referenced in a city task force’s high-profile report reviewing Philadelphia’s emergency preparedness plan for Mayor John Street.
